    Can I extend this plug?

I dont want to screw up anything so im asking. Have searched.

Can I extend the white and red wires in the picture? I need about 3 to 4 extra inches. This is a lilliput 8" Model #: 809GL-80NP/C/T

Is this a special kind of wire or anything else I need to know?

Could I use crimps or do I have to solder?

    Thanks!

yes, you can extend those wires. However, you do need to use the correct wire type. Those are high voltage, AC wire, and require specific properties that standard wire do not offer. Others here will tell you they have done it using regular wire, speaker wire, etc. But, do you want to play with 1000 volts AC?
buy the right wire, solder, not tape, then cover all connections with heatshrink tube.

If you don't want to deal with it, let me know.

I can extend the wires for you in my shop, if you wanted, or I can make an extension cable.
I would need to see better pics of the connector to make sure I have the right parts to make it. Otherwise, I would just remove the existing wires and solder in new, longer lengths.
