    Dynamix 806

Hello everyone! I had my heart set on using the 1020tsv, but have came to the conclusion that it just might be to big! I am looking for a 8 or 9 inch widescreen touchscreen monitor. I like the auto switching fetures of the xenarc, and cant seem to find any info out about the Dynamix 806.

Has anyone on here ran this monitor? Some of the specs are better than the 1020, but I cant seem to find a complete list of specs for it.

Heres a link. Any help is great! Thanks guys!

You know, there is a reason that noobs get flamed.
It's bad enough that people come along and ask to be spoon fed.
But you seem to take the cake. Or in this case, want to be spoon fed not only the answers, but that cake too!
    WTF NOOB!!!
did you even bother to read the link that YOU posted????
says right in the SPECS that are clearly on the page from the link that YOU provided that the monitor is auto switching, and all other relivent features and specs are listed.

You say you can't find the specs for that monitor, yet you post a link that lists the specs for it?
Do you know how to scroll down the page?

Yeah, this is decidedly flame-worthy, Motorcity.

Let the flaming & whoring begin!

First off, im going to try to defend myself. I have been researching car computer stuff for over a year now. I have a collection of parts, and the last thing I have to purchase is the monitor. I search, I research, and search some more. This is why I have such a small post count. Maybe if I become more of a post whore, people will not think that Im such a noobie.. oh well. I dont care. Now...

I should have rephrased my question alittle bit. Thats what I get for posting right before bedtime...lol The reason that I posted the link, is because I want to know if anyone knows anything about this peticualar monitor, or a website that has a more COMPLETE list of specs or knew anything in general about the 806. Geesh

Heres some of the difference between the two monitors:

    Mirror Image Flip
    Vertical Image Flip
    AISS
    Adjustable backlight
    Split screen
    Antiglare coating

The operating temp is 68 degrees F, on the 806

Now starting at the beginning, does anyone know if the 806 is capable of the mirror/vertical image flip? This is important to me for backup camara purposes. It states on that website that auto switching is possible. Does anyone know if it can auto switch into image flip mode?

AISS, is something that is offered on the 1020, what can you guys tell me about this feture first hand?

Adjustable backlight. The 1020, has this, and the 806 says it has a backlight, but mentions nothing about adjustablility. Is is adjustable? How important is this?

Split screen, not all that important to me.

Antilglare coating, on the 1020. The 806 doesnt mention anything about a antiglare coating. Does this acutally help with glare in the real world?

And the operating temp on the 806 is as high as 68 degrees. The 1020 states that it can operate all the way down to 23 degrees! Wow! Thats pretty impressive, but how often is it 23 degrees in Oregon, not all that often, but is does get down below 68, pretty frequently. I can get the car temp upto 68, I suppose, but it is a convertable, so it might acutally see that 68 more often than not.

Other than that, the brightness is 30 points higher on the 1020, I dont think this is all that big of a deal.

Also, I am looking for recomendations here. Idealy I would like to have a 8 or 9 inch widescreen monitor. Is there a 9 inch on the market that meets these specs?

    Thanks for the help.

Considering that the link you posted is the manufacturer's site, I doubt you'll find a more complete list of specs. I looked at your link and fail to see how the specs could be more complete.

For all your other questions, did you consider contacting the manufacturer to get an answer?

the features you listed seem pretty rediculous to me.

first off, with only 400 nits, the adjustable backlight feature is a useless novelty, you're never gonna want it dark.......and even if you did, the brightest setting isnt much brighter.

I dont know of a screen that does split screen, i've seen a PIP kinda thing but thats all.

anti-glare coating, this is probably on the touch overlay itself, and even if you were to choose a screen that suposadly has it, people report on here all the time that their lilliputs look like mirrors.

AISS I believe is some BS that xenarc came up with. I've never seen another LCD or monitor advertise this. Just about all LCD/monitors do this......its standard.

not sure if this screen does image flip....but since its not listed, i'd say "no". Get yourself a reverse camera that flips the image.

Thanks for the tip about the reverse camara, I should have known about that. I dont care if it does split screen, thats not important. They both have the same amount of inputs. I am concerned with the operating temp. range. 68 degrees is not all that cold. I will be well into that range quite often.

AISS, is probably something that xenarc made up, as a selling point. Other than the temp range, seems like a good monitor to me...

    Thanks

Okay, so I called the manufacture. She said that the operating temp goes down to 52 degrees, and confirmed that the touchscreen will still function until the monitor warms up. This still concerns me though. I forsee the temps in Oregon, being around there quite often. Espically 4 wheeling at night. Oh well. She also said, that she was unsure of the image flip. I suppose this can be software controlled if need be, or just purchasing the correct camara. She also said that the dimming is controlled like a conventional monitor, adjusting the brightness.

If I purchase, I will write a review of this monitor if you all are interested.

    Thanks for the help.

Oh one other thing, she said if there is a demand for it they can custom build monitors to my specs. I would have to order 15 of them. Is there eneough people that want a 9 inch widescreen monitor?

I purchased this monitor and installed it over the weekend.

Inside, the monitor is very bright and usable. The touchscreen and video quality is fine.

Outside, with the convertible top up the screen is usable, but not "brilliant".

With the convertible top down, the glare and washout makes the screen hard to use.

For my install, the screen 'brilliance' is the biggest concern. I"m unsure if using a different monitor would help any in my circumstance.
