Touchscreen LCD's - Where To Buy? | Besides Online

I have called just about every electronics store in my area (Dallas/FortWorth) both for computers and car audio, and NOBODY has a LCD Touchscreen small enough for a carputer...

Granted, I know they are on eBay, and a few other places online, but I would much rather buy from a real store even if I have to pay a few extra bucks...

So, my question is: Does anybody know where to find the Touchscreen LCD's we use for our carputers? Or who would carry them?

Any information is greatly apreciated. TIA!

Sorry I do not know any store.

What is the reason you don't want to buy online?
The mp3car.com store as well as digitalww.com have excellent costumer service. I have bought from both places and haven't had any problems.
To be honest, I don't buy from local places anymore because their costumer service is actually worse than from most online stores.

I'd check local stereo shops, namely high-end shops. There may be one or more that are getting into vehicle PCs and would carry touchscreens.
Since we're both in Dallas, I'd be curious as to your finidngs. I haven't bothered to ask around because I'm more than comfortable ordering online.

Good luck to you, but again: What hinders you from buying online?

Easier on me. I dont have a credit card, or any way to pay online. So in order for me to do so, I would have to ask a friend to charge something for me.

Not that its that big of a deal, I would just rather do it on my own is all...

Plus, buying something in person means that I get to touch and feel it before I buy it. i.e. no DOA's and such from shipping....

Personal preference I guess is the basic answer.

    A couple ideas for you:

You can purchase pre-loaded cards. Visa Buxx is one that I know off. It's designed for parents to provide teenagers with an allowance of sorts. They can be used to buy products online, since it's just like a credit card.

If you're really hard pressed, PM me and we can maybe work out a deal.

I agree with you about being able to lay hands on a product and check it out at a retailer before you buy, whether you buy at the retailer or online. This hooby is in its infancy, so there's not a lot of vendors for products.

Thanks, I forgot about thost preloaded credit cards... I just might end up doing that. Sounds like I've got a plan

And your right about the retailers... Really nobody carries this kind of a thing, which is kinda hard to believe... But, anyway...

    Thanks agian
