    Sleeka,
Check your pinouts again. Confirm they match your controller and the LCD.

Then check your hirose cable, ensure that the right pins are connected to each other with a VOM, then ensure there are no shorts across pins.

I had the same exact behavior with Allens controller and the LQ9D161 until I figured out I hooked it up wrong.

    Mastero,
Can you take a photo of what your DVD's look like?
My DVD's look viewable and not bad at all.
Maybe it's just Allens controller compared to my digital view controller?

    Mastero,

    You are kidding right?
My controller is 10x's better and supports up to 24 bits.
Your's (Allens) supports up to 18bits.

My controller I have the OSD controls and all.
If you wanted the Digital View you should have dished out $300.00 instead of buying the <$100.00 Allen Ruble controller.

More like, you wanna trade your Mercedes for my Lude?

for those of you (mastero) that want to look into getting one of the digitalview controllers that work with the DennisK screens... digitalview resellers link, check it out. they are not available online, so you will have to call for prices on the controller card, as well as the cabling that works with the card. the card we are using is the acg-1024.

by the way, i got my entire kit for only $175 (minus the vga and serial cables), but i have a feeling that this controller card is gonna be a lot more than that.

OK, now that everythings out of the way...

Where can I get a nice enclosure for this thing? I have a project box that I can use now, but it's gotta be painted and it's not made for LCDs.

I decided to build a box and make it removable so it's theft proof.

mastero... please let us know what sort of pricing you find out... it would be good to locate a controller card supplier other than earthlcd, assuming the price is reasonable.

I just talked to a friend of mine who's pretty knowledgable on LCDs.

    Here's the deal.

To get good video on an LCD display you can do one of 2 things.

    1) spend more money on an LCD and less on a controller

    or

    2) spend less on an LCD and more on a controller.

A $50 to $100 controller on a good (18 bit or higher) LCD will look real good. However, it won't look so good on a cheaper LCD that is only 12 bit.

An expensive controller can make a 12 bit screen look good.

Allens controller is a low end pixel to pixel LCD controller. Nothing wrong with that and it looks great with good LCDs (18 bit)

The Digital view controller is a very good controller that can do interpolation and color adjustment to make a 12 bit LCD look almost as good as an 18 bit. He's pretty skeptical it looks as good as an 18 bit but not surprised it looks good enough for DVDs. He's a pretty discriminating guy.

Off the top of his head he thought the Digital View controller normally sold for over $400!!!

So MP3Z24 got a steal of a deal if he got the controller and an LCD for $175. Good catch Mike!

    Hope that helps,
    Pigseye
