    Repetition...

Alright folks, I came into work this morning and the emails were quite nice, I appreciate them. However I am getting a lot of personal requests on price. The prices are located at:

    http://www.fpdgroup.com/samples.php

    If you end up here:

    http://fpdgroup.com/products.php

go back to here to match the price for the SIZE (resolution does not constitute price differentiation):

    http://www.fpdgroup.com/samples.php

Additionally, folks I know group buys are not permitted here, and to respect that I will not discuss them any further than the following:

There are only price breaks for 5 units, 10 units, and 25 units for end users. If you purchase more than that then you are probably a reseller, which constitutes better discounts. For the price breaks at 5, 10, and 25, we are a value added producer the discounts are not going to be much (a few percent) because production lines for single or small quantity hold up other lines of queued product lines of larger quantity to complete. Each change to the production line entails down time and labor costs.

To reiterate earlier posts, I have never said this was cheap, however I maintain it IS A SOLUTION.

One more thing, I don';t want to seem cruel or uncaring, but people don't waste my time or yours, read the other threads about the technology, prices, and comparisons. 90% of the questions you have are answered therein. If you don't believe me ask the other members of this thread if there is anything left I should add (other than transflective touchscreen pics, which will be here soon when Nameeri's panel is off the product line). Back me up guys... please.

Please keep these things I have written and said in mind when contacting me,

    -nmbenson

I know group buys are out, so I'm thinking maybe MP3Car can buy a couple Xenarcs, send them for the transflective upgrade, and sell them via MP3Car store. What do you think ZipLock?

I would buy one (assuming it IS a solution).

this IS a solution..... before the transflective addition the screen can be completely washed out by the sun.... to the point that it is unreadable... you can't even tell that it's on...

after the transflective addition this can't happen.... the screen will always be visable, even in direct sunlight.... it will not look bright at that point.... it almost looks like the backlight is off, but you can still clearly see the image on the screen..... it almost looks like if you printed the screen, then put the piece of paper behind a touchscreen.... that's the best way to discribe it....

it is not the equivlent of a super bright screen..... if anything the screen may even loose a little of it's original brightness, but it will be always visable.... that is a solution. a super bright screen may be an even better solution, but will cost more & draw more power

I've had a few older ones, I just got a new hydis view anywhere display that uses similar technology & was just playing with it in the sun this morning...

before you ask, the hydis isn't available in less than a 12.1" screen.... this is really our problem.... with larger screens the possibiltys of a ready made solution are much easier to find..... with smaller 7 & 8" lcd's the choices of a good screen out of the box slim down dramatically.... this is why this is such a good solution for many here....

the mp3car involvement would be cool... the final cost of the screen will be high though... any savings in more quantity would be absorbed probably by the fact that mp3car will have to invest more capitol in these screens, & must also make a profit on that investment.... combine that with the shipping back & forth & deciding who is actually going to disassemble & reassemble the screens.....

I still think some will be willing to pay for it, but it's probably easier for most to divide the costs into seperate steps... one smaller hit for the screen which many have already been purchased & then this upgrade..

    Bad News Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

    BAD NEWS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Project Division has been suspended for allocation of capital toward a move to a larger location. This was announced today in a meeting this morning... litterally minutes after reading the above posts.

You all have been a project of mine to gauge the value and need of your demographic. We have established that there IS a significant need however the money allocated to my dept. has been rerouted to enlarging our facility.

    What this means:

    1. We will not, as of thursday of next week 05/25/06, officially not support end users for enhancements at single unit level. Group buys would be accepted ONLY if all units (10+) are the same panel with the same needs (TS and mod, etc).

    2. I am ****ed off

    3. I am working on getting another company to partner in making an "out of the box" solution. In affect they offer panels with the transflective mod to the end users. Quite simply because we will have a minimum order quantity of 10 for resellers. I will be contactin Accele and Mp3car.com

    What will happen:

1.a. You have to get your panel to us before thursday next week & pay for it if you want to get it done.
    b. You will have to wait unitl we settle in and/or until/if we are able to set up a deal with an end user panel provider

    2. I will still post pictures of the end result here from Nameeri's panel and Grayvader's (he recently purchased the upgrade for an 8.4")

    3. I will still work on getting another site set up to discuss this further and/or create a way of making group buys (however I feel this will be outside of my ability)

    What we need to happen:

    1. A lot of requests formal or informal through this forum or email to us requesting an end user solution (transflective). Pretty much a petition. This will make our discussion with mp3car.com and/or Accele take better notice and create a formal need rather than "a bunch of guys talking amongst each other that would like to get this transflective thing".

    2. Me to cool down and salvage my work here.

    ---

This really sucks guys, all my time writing here and setting up the production lines with engineers are gone. The only good news is that our business seems to be going well so that we can move into a larger facility.

So please guys make some noise.
