It's funny you should mention Man&Machine.. we use their industrial waterproof keyboards for the kiosks out on the shop floors at work.Originally Posted by jsdr78

Civiputer: Dont have one anymore, but here is what is used to be!
Remember folks your touch screen is 1/2 your problem, you can do all the "brightness mods" you want however that touchscreeen you are using is going to reduce you net nits by 20-50% and do nothing about the glare issue. Glare, glare, glare... I just wish our company could start our own production line of in house made transflective LCD line. I am still working on another company supporting an end user line of pre enhanced lcds.
A quick question:
What are the most used sizve carputer screen? 8.4? 7? 6.4?
-nmbenson
I would think 7 is the most poular & most likely to fit the widest range of installs, although for those that have room for more, bigger is more desirable... smaller than 7 is rarely used...
MY NEWEST INSTALL:modded infiniti fx with big screen
first windows carpc install........my liquid cooled LVDS screen :D
7" is by far the most used because it fits in a double din space and is about the right size to fit in a dash even when they don't have a double din space.

So if I were to get the upgrade done through this other company, where can I find someone to install a good touchscreen on it…One comparable to the ones nmbenson would have used. I know they specifically match the touch screen to the attributes of the screen but I would settle for just a good quality TS applied. Any ideas anyone?Originally Posted by nmbenson

THANKS that helps with our strategy for target market placement
in response to above, there are no know optical matching TSs available for stock lcds including high brights
Hi, here is another person signing up to make some noise about this. If the comparison looks good between the stock / modified screen I am going be in for at least one (w/ touchscreen). I am going to need a 7" screen.
Subscribed and waiting for the 22nd!
I see you didn't read the whole thread. This upgrade is no longer available.Originally Posted by trasko

Nathan: I don't understand you note above about there not being matching TS available for stock lcd's.
I think what EricE was asking is: can you tell us what touch screen your company would put on a 7" Xenarc or 7" Lilliput? We may not be able to get the transflective upgrade, but we could put new touch screens on our panels and that would help.
