    is 800x480 even possible???

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm using linux, with the 915resolution hack, and xrandr to set the resolution to 800x480.

What I'm pretty sure is happening is that the screen is rescaling it down to 640x480, then back up to 800x480 for the display. The menu says that the input is in 640x480, and the auto-adjust timing locks on perfectly to this 'blurred' signal.

800x600 works fine, as does 640x480. Each of them is only blurred across pixels in one direction (the other being the native res.), it's ONLY 800x480 that doesn't work for me.

This post on the centrafuse forums suggests that Lilliput have said it isn't possible, but i find it hard to believe that other people haven't seen this too?

    Little update:

I phoned Lilliput UK today, and they said this is a known problem that some screens have had. They then kindly (??) offered to reset the EEPROM for me, for the sum of 35 (~$50). Plus shipping of course.

Unfortunately I bought mine from ebay, so no warranty - anyone who bought it direct would be able to get it sorted without charge, probably up to a year after purchase

Any possibility of getting the binary for the eeprom? I can reprogram mine myself, but I'm not going to send it back in.

Or do you have a contact name of who you talked too, so I can try to reach that person myself. I'm still waiting to hear from the US contact.

how is the touch sensitivity on this screen. My buddy got a new 7" and the cursor is EVERYWHERE!!! It jumps all over the screen. Not sure why. It makes me nervous to order

I have no problems with mine other than my fingers are pretty fat. A calibration definitely helps. I use a stylus when I'm working in the filesystem but other than that, I use my fingers for everything.

I'll see what I can do. When I spoke to them on the phone I couldn't get the first line support/sales guy to put me through to the engineer. Never got a name either. I doubt they'll be keen to let the image out, but i'll try and talk them round.

I work for a circuit board manufacturer, so reprogramming the part will be no problem for me. I am going to see if I can contact the US sales and work it through that angle as well.

I can clone a working eeprom as well.
