mine gets very hot... especially when its been used for a while...
although if your getting colour changes when you press the back, somethings loose and not right. But this will be unrelated to the heat.
The heat is generated by the backlights.
I have a Lilliput 629 7inch Touchscreen LCD Display. And I havent actually installed everything in my car yet but I have been playing around with the various front-ends and such in my house, and my screen gets really hot both in the front and the back. Not too hot to the point of "too hot to touch" but it definitly gets very warm....
Is this normal? Or do all LCD's get pretty hot...
The reason I ask is because I have had issues with this particular screen already (for awhile the screen would just have a blueish tint all over the screen, but after pressing hard on the back the blue went away, almost like something wasnt making contact) and I dont know if there is something wrong with this display, or if this is just the way the Lilliputs are in general... And since this is my first touchscreen LCD period, I dont have anything to compare with...
Thanks In Advance for any info....

mine starts to do funky things when it gets hot. It's fine as long as the cabin temp is comfortable. I have no A/C so the interior can get pretty warm, even with the windows down. The trouble i have with mine is more so if the car's been sitting in the sun all day and it's hot in there. Once i get the air moving, it's usually ok.
The color changes in the LCD are not heat related. I had those issues straight out of the box, without the LCD being on for any length of time at all....
As for heating concerns, I just wanted to make sure that it wasnt just me. Like I said I have nothing to compare with so as long as I am not "special", everything is okayhehe
I seen a few guys take out their speaker and put a fan in its place, and I had intentions to do the same when I actually do install it in my car... But I have to be honest, when mine stays on for a long time (even all day) nothing goes wrong with it due to the heat. Granted thats in a house with A/C, not a car outside in the Texas heat... But either way...
Thanks alot for all of your replies, I got alot of great info and I apreciate it![]()
