    Just confirming an assumption...

I hooked up my redant to my Herc 3D Prophet II Ultra through a S-video to RCA converter cable. (No composite out) It looks like ****. It doesn't stretch to fill the screen and it's horribly blurry. At lower resolutions (640x480) it comes out as black and white, but at 1920x1200, it has nice color, but way too blury. I saw BMW Speed Freak's pictures so I know what is possible. I have a ASUS GeForce II 32MB card which has composite out, but haven't tried it yet. Is this just because it's SVideo and not composite?

this is a difficult question to answer...

Off the top of my head, I would guess that you might be losing something across the S-video/RCA adapter...
S-video is a far superior technology for video quality, but there may be something wrong with that converter.

Go ahead and try your other card with the composite output (the output signal may not be as good, but it will help you find the source of the problem). If the screen is still screwy, then it may be deffective. If the image is fine, then the problem could be either the original Video card, or the converter.

With most LCD screens, I wouldn't worry about the quality of an RCA connector... it should be plenty for your car needs when you set the font sizes big enough.

Trial and error will help you find the solution in the long run.

    Good Luck,
    -Miles

Looking at it a little closer, it's not actually SVideo out, but "A/V out." I hooked up my LCD to a real composite out on an ASUS V6600 and it looked pretty good, but not as good as BMW SF's. I was able to make it fill up the screen better than his, though. Maybe some better shielded cables will help.

BMW Speed Freak, what resolution were you running in those pictures?
