FFS! use this one then!![]()
Hi!
I'm having serious trouble with flickering on my Gain 7" TSV LCD monitor.
I tried figuring out the problem last weekend but wasn't able to to get rid of it. I've been reading alot about similar problems on the forum now and gonna try doing some more modifications.
I know have the lcd powered from the battery, it flickers but the ground of the lcd is grounded to the cig light in the front. I'm gonna try feeding it from the opus and grounding it back to the opus in my trunk.
I've also bought a ground loop isolator, since this is what Opus recommanded, but the isolator is supposed for use on a rca audio cable. How can I use this on my lcd problem?
Also I have two amps with together 1000w RMS. After I've installed the Opus the lcd is fading in and out with bass like crazy, sometimes the lcd even turns off, allthrought my lcd is powered separately directly from the battery) I never had this problem before I installed the Opus! ( I used a laptop before)
I can't imagine the 120w opus could make such a power difference for my lcd.
Hope this will dissapear when I power it of the opus.
It must be the lcd ground that's causing the flickering. Last week I tried these methods withouth moving the lcd ground, none was flicker free solutions:
lcd power
from opus
direct from battery
throught gain 12v regulator
throught more expensive 12v dc-dc regulator
but if the the carputer itself runs off an inverter and the lcd from the car battery then no flickering.
this is the only thread from me now
I would be very surprised if hooking it direct to the opus didnt fix your problem. The opus will provide regulated, clean power, whereas your stock wiring, regardless of ground point will have a variable voltage.

Cuz powereing lcd from opus and lcd ground to cigarette lighter in dash caused
flickering. Asking because it's quite a job to move the lcd ground to te trunk where the opus is so it would be nice to know if it would work before I get started.
Is it ok to just use one of the power connectors for cdrom/hdd from the opus? connector on back of cdrom states : DC INPUT: 12V G G 5V
Also if anyone knows why do the opus need two power in cables from the
battery? DC and AC ?
