Well it is not supposed to do anything. But sometimes these cheap screens just dont like power surges. So it might do what happened to mine. Burn out a chip, and no more 800x600 resolution.

So, got my lilli 701 working on 800x480 and that damned auto adjusting button won't "f" it up anymore!
I hooked up a crt (so I could mess with settings without it going black) and fished around a bit with nvidia's config screens. I clicked "hide modes this monitor cannot display".
The only mode left was 800x480 at 75 hz.
I added a custom resolution at these settings in the nvidia config panel and..........
Success!
The only strange thing is that the Lilli OSD says it's 640x480, but everything displays as 800x480. Weird. Also, 960x800 came up as 800x600 on the osd. Weird-er.
Now I can hit that annoying little auto adjust button all I want and all it does is center the display as it's supposed to without giving the monitor an aneurysm.
I think what happens is when the monitor tries to "auto adjust" on a resolution off even a bit from what it wants, it says "I don't know what to do with this" and just sets "out of range" and a black screen. Basically, it says "I don't know what you want, do it yourself".
Get the settings right and it says "ok, I know this" and does the centering like it's supposed too.
That's it in laymans terms.
Not saying it will work for everyone, but it does for me.
Good luck all.

I too faced the same problem on my lilliput today. Touched the auto adjust by mistake and now i am sitting with the "out of range" message!!
But stangely when i plug my laptop running on the 800 X 600 , it displays. Only when i plug the car pc in, it displays the "out of range" message.
Does that mean the video chip is safe? Will reinstalling the OS in my carpc solve the problem?

for what its worth, I got rid of my jetway board and went to an ibase system. I can press the auto-adjust all I want now and it seems to work fine.
I presume its because the jetway/s3 chipset isn't quite pushing out the exact refresh rate it says, and the lilli is freaking out because of it.
Hi. Same problem here with my Lilli EBY701. It worked OK for 7 months using 800x600 @ 60 Hz, and just about an hour ago I pressed the Auto Adjust button and got an awfull OUT OF RANGE sign.
These people at Lilliput don't f'in test their displays??
I tried reseting via the OSK menu, but seems it only applies to the current resolution and frequency. All the others resolutions work OK.
I'm now working at 800x600 @ 75 Hz and it looks OK, but I really need to recover the 60 Hz frequency, not to speak that I'm more scared of pressing again that button that I am of the little chinesse kid in The Grudge
I seems that the screen internally stores horiz and vert clocks set by this button and once it's configuration goes out of range it can never go back or be reseted.
Any ideas of how to reset ALL modes and frequencies at once?
Have any of you guys came out with a real solution?
Thank you!
Or does anyone know how to disable that button so if you press it nothing happens?
