I don't yet have my video installed. But I found this on http://www.newbeetle.org, a forum that I frequent alot. I think this is what I'm going to shoot for. Touch screen, if possible.

I am reluctant to cut into the celing, so I'm going to try to pull that compartment out and fit the screen in without modding the actual cabin of the New Beetle.

Ok, I am not as far as any of the previous posters but here's a quick mock up of where my screen is going:

Just imagine the screen not down where it is, but up toward the top of thecenter console. It's a Touch Screen - 8.4" It'll fit right in there - I just have to either move the HVAC controls down to the bottom of the center console (under the LCD) or control the HVAC with servos and the LCD....

I'll have it in Soon...I hope

You guys with LCDs fabbed in your dashboard. Are you using anything in front of the LCD, like a peice of plexiglass? I have a peice of plexi in front of my LCD to protect it in case something hits the LCD. But I may be getting some excessive glare.

People with touchscreens like me can't place anything over the screen.

I am deciding to go with a in-dash tft install. Pics soon.

I have to remove my Kenwood headunit and buy a 4 channel amp instead first.
