Heh, now that my dash is actually aproaching a "beta" stage, it might finally be time to post it. The VFD was installed this morning (1am), and while extreemly bright at night (even at 25% brightness), the text was almost completely washed out in direct sunlight (as pictured). The acrylic holding the screen either needs vinyl put over it, or some sort of matting under it, and the screen needs to be mounted at the proper viewing angle (still further reclined at the top), but its finally getting closer (as opposed to the metal mounting struts on the lcd that sat on the opening for so long).

mp3dub: is that set up as an HUD?. But it was there for the same purpose, so i could see what tracks were on/thermal stats/time/etc with out really taking my eyes off the road. As i said before, the vfd was too bright at night and completely washed out durring the day, so im trying to find a similarly large LCD (the vfd is now sitting on top of my monitor at home displaying the time and winamp info
).

Hey guys!
Got an in-dash LCD... saw Pyle/Emerson as cheap as $350, but sound was crap so I returned it...
Now I'm looking for a dash LCD with good video & sound quality (ie.clarion, alpine etc.), preferably with a tuner/cd/controller/tv tuner... any ideas?
Thanks...

If you going for brand names, just get the one with the features you want. Its a bit pointless anyone deciding for you, as it wont be YOUR opinion. They will all be good quality from the top manufacturers.
