I am guessing this unit is put together in the USA, which would explain why it cost so much. It takes way more engineering to design a single DIN motorized screen, yet the Chinese are able to do it at much less cost so it is very competitive. The new Xenarc MDT-X7000 seems to be a very solid unit with automotive grade components and jammed with features, yet it is still $200 less than the asking price for the CDT650.

    nobb,

I understand. Yes, the CT650 Series is designed, manufactured and SUPPORTED in the US. Again, I apologize if none of the CT650 models fit your needs (both in features and budget). The next (double-din) step down that may fit your needs better would be the DL065A, priced at $650. Best of luck to you if you ever need to find local, helpful and knowledgeable support from the manufacturer of that product.

    To the group,
Thanks for the additional suggestions and input. They will be taken into consideration in future products.

Sorry that it might seem like we are ripping on your product, but its actually very nice of you to actually come to these forums and be willing to work with the users to determine what would work best so I just wanted to show my appreciation. Kind of like what David does with Centrafuse. Does the DL065A use the same panel as the CT650? I emailed you earlier about my concerns on the longevity of these displays when used in cold climates (CCFL backlight only rated for 2000 hours at -30C). I think I would definitely be willing to spend $650 on a monitor, but only if it had some type of LED backlight system. Although 2k hours is alot for automotive use, I would still be paranoid about the monitor dying out on me prematurely. I have seen some manufacturers selling LED backlit screens for about the same price as CCFL.

    Dww-6500

Im thinking of buying the DWW-6500. But, has anyone had this one work with carputer, and complete car stereo? (Front speakers, Subs with their own amplifiers etc) and how would you connect the amplifiers to this unit to get the "full sound"?

(sorry me for being a noob, but have been reading this forum for over 1 hour now and havent found anything on it).

Please Email me on [email protected]!
would be awesome if anyone had photos of this one with complete stereo and carputer!
