Dual DIN LCD touchscreen monitor?

Since it is not available yet, and digitalww is the exclusive retailer, so it isn't available anywhere else, no one has any experience with the unit.

Your best bet is to contact Armen at digitalww.com. He should have all the specs and answers you need.

Also, most likely, what you see, color wise, is what you get.

I talked to Armen from DigitalWW about the single DIN and double DIN units. The only difference is the single DIN unit does not include a DVD player. The unit looks good except for the million dollar question. Is it transreflective. This is a big deal because many people still use a headunit in their CarPC solution, due to the fact that when the sun is out, you might not be able to watch movies, but you can still listen to the radio and control your audio. If it isn't sunlight readable, this unit will look ridiculous unless you live somewhere where there's no sun. I am waiting on an e-mail about that problem, but the specs show the same brightness as the Lilliputs and the Xenarcs. I attached a pjoto of the single DIN. We're getting closer.

Soooo, you are waiting to know if it is transflective. Don't hold your breath. Let's see, the transflective upgrade is about 600 or so dollars, and the digitalww DD units is about 650 bucks. What do you think are the chancs the unit is transflective??

I bet armen could get them in transflective, but the cost for the entire unit would easily reach 1000 dollars.

I am sure if Armen got a bunch of paid pre orders for the unit with the transflective upgrade, I bet he would do it. Now all you have to do is get enough to do it. Why don't you ask Armen how many and how much.

Besides, when did transflective become the standard. It isn't. Currently, the standard for screens is NOT transflective. Hopefully one day it will be, and the prices will come down, but not yet.

Of course transreflective is not the norm. You don't have to read many posts to figure that out. An option would be nice. I would pay 1200 for it. A double DIN head unit with navigation with a hard drive is going to cost a couple thousand. Getting a transreflective unit and adding a computer to the trunk could come out cheaper and give many other options. A solution is near, I am just hoping that a true All-in-one unit will come out soon that meets the standards that everyone is looking for.
