Hey, that's what's in my truck right now until I can afford an in-dash touchscreen...
Mines using an inverter and works just fine.
Yes I have searched - for hours. No, I am not really new to this. That being said, I see a lot of discussion on 12volt lcds and laptop LCD's but not many people running "desktop" LCD's with their systems. I realize there are issues but what is the down side for a guy who wants to run a "desktop" (micro) PC with a standard 110vLCD touchscreen he just happens to have kicking around (2 actually) For most is it just cost prohibitive or am I searching way too late at night and missing something? - Thanks for the patience with this "newbie".
Aren't most "desktop" LCD monitors have some sort of an internal/external power supply?

Well my goal was to mount it on a custom fabbed swing arm so it could be used mostly between the front seats facing rear for movies and games and flipped forward for NAV when needed. They are 12" screens so they're nice and big albeit a little reflective. So I suppose your just using a VGA input adapter for your game/PC inputs??
