I got mine yesterday. Doesn't appear to be especially brighter or less reflective than any of the desktop PC LCDs I've worked with before. However, I've never owned a small 7" car LCD before to I can't really compare apples to apples. This could be the bee's knees as far as small LCDs go, I just don't have a good non-transflective 7" LCD screen to compare to. Additionally, I've only used it inside and haven't had a chance to try it out in direct sunlight.

I kept getting "Over Range", even when at 800x600/60Hz/16Bit. But I eventually got it to display correctly, all the way up to 1024x768.

For some reason the touch screen is reversed. I press at the top and the mouse clicks at the bottom, and visa-versa.

Also, the touchscreen doesn't respond to touches around the outer inch near the boarder. Only the center works. Because of this, I can't even do the calibration because it requires you to click "X"s in the vary corners of the screen. I'm guessing this has to do with the frame of the enclosure pressing on the edge of the touchscreen.

Text looks pretty crappy at 800x600, but it sounds like that's what everyone uses, so I'll probably just get used to it. For the most part I'll be in RR with large fonts and large graphical buttons so it hopefully won't be as noticable.

uh oh.. this review worries me.. i was hoping to get one of these screens to replace my dead xenarc but now im debating if its worth the price if these issues are common...

Is anyone else having this issue or is this just a fluke case?
I wish i knew how to do fiberglass work...

Zip-Lock, is the T/S available seperately by any chance? And if it is, does it really have to match the LCD or will it work on any current LCD?

Please don't use this as a review because it's not even close to one. It not even a useful post and should be deleted. If you want a fair comparison then look at the video in the store.

No, because it has to match the LCD.

I don't have a firm ETA. Best guess is a couple of weeks. We're trying to speed this up, but it's a labor intensive process while each monitor is built by hand.

Just wanted to pipe up here and say I am very impressed with mine. After going through the training program the upside down issue is resolved. And yes, it is bright!

As for screen size, well, it's only 7"s! First thing I did is set XP up for large icons and fonts and it is very usable.

And the outer edge thing? Yes, it is not something a fat-fingered person would want to try to poke. Windows is pretty flexible and can be configured to do everything you need without this being an issue.

Now I have to get some time to get it mounted with the new sound system. Right after I get done installing the GMC 6-71 Blower on the motor this week.

    Cheers!

    john
