I got mine yesterday. Doesn't appear to be especially brighter or less reflective than any of the desktop PC LCDs I've worked with before. However, I've never owned a small 7" car LCD before to I can't really compare apples to apples. This could be the bee's knees as far as small LCDs go, I just don't have a good non-transflective 7" LCD screen to compare to. Additionally, I've only used it inside and haven't had a chance to try it out in direct sunlight.
I kept getting "Over Range", even when at 800x600/60Hz/16Bit. But I eventually got it to display correctly, all the way up to 1024x768.
For some reason the touch screen is reversed. I press at the top and the mouse clicks at the bottom, and visa-versa.
Also, the touchscreen doesn't respond to touches around the outer inch near the boarder. Only the center works. Because of this, I can't even do the calibration because it requires you to click "X"s in the vary corners of the screen. I'm guessing this has to do with the frame of the enclosure pressing on the edge of the touchscreen.
Text looks pretty crappy at 800x600, but it sounds like that's what everyone uses, so I'll probably just get used to it. For the most part I'll be in RR with large fonts and large graphical buttons so it hopefully won't be as noticable.
