would this kit fit right in the xenarc case with out any mod???
Woot, I got in this round.
I am a bit worried about maybe having to mod my custom bezel to fit the new TS. After all, if the stock one doesn't work anymore then likely mine won't either. I'll just have to wait and see though. Crossing my fingers.

Okay here's some more detail for you:Originally Posted by rando

If the touch screen comes unattached, how does one securely attach it to the screen? Why would it even come unattached?Originally Posted by Zip-Lock
If so many hours are spent matching the LCD with the touch screen, why is it removed? I would think it would be easier for both the engineer and the end user if it just came attached.Originally Posted by Zip-Lock
The Subaru kit comes with a bezel. I assume by 'fit' you mean this bezel won't require moding in order to fit this new larger touch screen?Originally Posted by Zip-Lock
This enhancement process has been implemented in applications wide ranging from that of the auto industry and hobbist. The reason for the COMPLETE seperation of TS is for engineering flexibility. sometimes a gap in the mounting from the display is necessary for extreme temperature convection heating or cooling; and sometimes applications require the LCD to be completely sealed from the other components (another reason, however not the case here, why in our original setup the TS and TS controller is seperate). It is a standardization for the enhancement process that we have established wherein the least amount of after enhancement modification is required (IE: having to removing the TS to suit an individual and reacurring modification like that of different car mountings and bezels. Basicly a "kit". It is just our experience that this "base" setup works the best in most (not all) cases. Flexibility is the key for broad range solutions.Originally Posted by Podaman
There are no off the shelf bezels that fits it correctly. This was a rushed job to supply early adopters who can get by without a bezel. Other versions with bezels will be forthcoming.Originally Posted by Podaman
Yes it should fit without modification. The Subaru kit comes with a bezel. I assume by 'fit' you mean this bezel won't require moding in order to fit this new larger touch screen?

Thanks for the prompt replies Zip-Lock and nmbenson. Flexibility is key, I agree, but I wonder how many really need the TS and LCD sepperated?
Anyways,
I'd love to order this screen along with Kit #3 from mechatroniks.com. It's Kit #3 from here: http://www.mechatroniks.com/wrx/ordering.html With this kit he will wire it up for you.
Would this panel be considered close enough dimensions wise and wiring wise to a stock Lilliput 629 for him to install and wire it up?
That screen looks awsome, it looks sooo much better. Makes our screens look homemade, the new screen looks like something an automaker would use for nav etc. Gonna wait and see if any issues come up with the controller, touchscreen, cables etc.

Man I want one of these but then what to do with my Xenarc 700TSV. I wish I had found out about this while you were still accepting the Xenarcs for modding. Any chance of doing another round?
