The screen is probably proprietary for whatever device it was used on.
Hi, can any of you guys please identify this screen? I'm thinking of building an incar touch screen PC - and I have a chance to get one of these for free. Unfortunately it seems to have a propriatory type connector/interface.
As far as I know the screen was taken from a TabletPC type device - which I guess means that the connector type is either standard to all laptops and tabletPC's, or that it is unique and restrcted to the system for which it was designed?
What I want to know is, what would the relative degree of difficulty be in getting this screen to work when using for example a NanoITX type computer?
I'm guessing that the connector type is not just a standard VGA type connector - as it is also a touch screen - so perhaps the touch screen part of this project would be the hardest part to overcome?
The second image shows the connector type next to a ruler.
The problem is that there is absolutely zero doccumentation supplied with them.
If you guys think I am wasting my time, then fair enough. I'm really just seeing if I can save a few pennies.
Any input would be appreciated.

18 terminals on the video plug means it's a ttl input... you might be able to get a controller, but it'll be over $250 for sure.... buy the time you add a touch controller for another $100, you'll have spent over $400 with shipping& stuff for something that'll be so dim, the only times you'll be able to use it will be when the sun goes down....
not worth doing much with that screen, pretty useless really more than likely...strip it to google the actual lcd# to find a data sheet for the specs just to be sure it's not a decent screen, but you'd still be looking at $400 or so, I doubt it's worth it...
