ok so we need to regulate the power, I was wondering if instead of connecting it to the psu, could i buy some sort of DC-DC converter or something, does anyone recommend a good one or what i should be looking for?

The speakers do the same thing, when accessing the hard drive I can here buzzing sounds comming from the speakers, I am running a 250w AMP.

The screen does have a filter/regulatr or EGG box thing on it.......?

there's no converting to go from DC-DC.

Best bet it to connect it to your PSU if you have the avaliable power on it.

Else, you can buy a point-of-load for the screen if your power supple will support them.

As for your speakers, that's a ground issue that could be any number of things. For that, please see this thread: Induced noise/Ground loop trouble shooting guide.

So are you saying then that the screen does have an egg on the power line?

Technically, a pol power supply is a dc-dc converter. No need for a supporting power supply, only if you want it to switch on/off with it, and even that is easy with a relay or hooking it up to your ACC line instead of directly to 12v.

If the regulator is already used, it most probably is a grounding issue, maybe where your carpc is badly grounded (and grounds over the vga cable's ground, over the screen, to the screen's ground) or your screen is (the other way around).
