New Pioneer AVM & AVX P7000CD wont play dvd's HELP!!

I just bought a real nice Pioneer AVX-P7000CD lcd motorized screen with built in CD player and a Pioneer AVM-P7000R a/v master unit, and a brand new half din Quest DVD,MP3 player.

I hooked everything up and the screen looks good and the sterio and CD player works and sounds great, the DVD player plays the dvd;s but the movies will not show up on the screen, Do I need another A/V master unit????Does the P7000R support DVD play?????

Any ideas what the problem could be......

Okay, your controller has NOTHING to do with playing DVDs. If you have a seperate DVD player, that plays the DVDs. If you have the video output of the DVD player hooked up correctly to the controller, then it should be fine.

I have a feeling there's a setting or an installation issue. Try different inputs being selected on-screen and also by connecting the video to different inputs on the controller.

And also, read the manuals, generally if something isn't right, they'll give you a clue what.

Thanks So Much for the help, But still not working, I messed with it for hours, I tried every possible connection in the world, I am so excited to get this to work.
When I hit the source button on the remote, It only gives me the option of Fm 1,2 or 3, AM or CD , It does not have a DVD option on the screen, but I have seen one that says DVD on the screen on Ebay, Why can't I get mine to say that????? When I hit play on the DVD player, should the A/V computer reconize the signal and automaticaly play it on the screen???????

Also I have tried Video A and B on the screen.

Also the DVD player does work and play perfect on another screen I tried.

    dsmbob - just some advice.

This forum (mp3car.com) is dedicated to carPCs and the things that go along with them.

I'd suggest you hit up a dedicated car audio forum. it's not that you won't find the help you need or the answers you're looking for here, it's that you're more likely to find them quicker on a dedicated car audio forum.

    good luck!

Sorry about that, I was not sure.
But the good news and for anyone who buys this unit without instructions, I called Pioneer(great service buy the way) and they said #1. to turn the unit on and then hit the Source button till it turns off. #2. Hit function till it turns on, #3. Then tap function till VTR appears and then arrow up and turn on video unput A. on.

And now it plays DVD movies perfect. B.T.W you have to have the remote the do this setup.

Great website and Folks, I look forward to checking this site out some more.
