    Unhappy my poor screen

    Hi,

THis is the screen I have : http://store.mp3car.com/PhotoGallery...=2#largerphoto

I have the screen getting its power from a 150 W opus. It has worked fine for 1.5 years +...

Heres how it started... One morning I started to drive for work... hit the power button on the screen and nothing happens, I heard the PC start..

I was late for work so didnt bother to mess with it, tried re-starting the pc a couple times... but no luck on the screen.

So in the evening when I was driving back tried it again and it worked.

Again the next day the screen didnt power on... that evening it didnt power on either... then after 2 days of not powering on it came on... one last time .

So this weekend I was going to pull out everything and check the wiring..

I get in the car to pull the screen out and check the wiring.... The screen had fallen by 2 inches from the dash... where its mounted, and when i opened the dash the wire that goes into the button's from the screen had come off... So i thought thank god its an easy fix...

So i put the wire back in and try it again...guess what still nothing on the screen... tried it a few times... still nothing on the screen...

I checked the rest of the wires and they all are ok...

    What do I do.........

try to get the ts out of your car and try it on another computer
it might be just a bad video card or faulty wiring

i won't judge anything at this point

if it was a bad video card... then the atleast power should come on?

I will try to power it on w/out vga and usb plugged in.....and pray for the the blue screen....

if that works then I am taking the laptop and try it out...

Post pics, it might not be too bad, but a cut ribbon cable is usually a bad sign. If it is still long enough, you might be able to cut it, and then scrape away the contacts so that you can re seat the cable in the connector. But, it all depends. A replacement might be in order.

    Pics would make things easier.
