that's what I was thinking... it would have to be aplied like tint too, meaning wetting down the rear of the lcd... I think as long as it's controlled & too much preasure isn't aplied, & then if dried properly it should work.

I would try it, but I got so many other projects going on that I haven't had a chance to... it has to work, but to what extent I don't know.....

I opened up a few laptop LCDs and I can tell you they use several of those mirror sheets in each. One I opened had 2 and another had 3. Some were dimmer than the others. Maybe that helps.

I was also going to give ths a try, but put the mirror sheet right under my touchscreen. I will give it a try once my carputer is installed.

I haven't tried it at all because all of the screens I've been working with lately are already transflective screens... I don't have any real need for this because all of the screens going in my car are transflective & I haven't had time to play with any of my older non-transflective screens... some day I'll dig a few out & try this though, I'm curious if it'll be a huge improvement or not..

the layers your talking about are what's called the "optical stack". usually 2-4 sheets, that consist of difusers & contrast enhancers, some are polarized & look reflective, but most laptop acreens aren't transflective at all... there are only a few different specialty laptops that even have the option of a transflective screen, unless you happened to have one of those, chances are it wasn't a transflective screen that you took apart.....

Not tried it, but the film is cheap enough - might be worth a try as long as it would be reversable
