*points and laughs*try uninstalling and reinstalling the video drivers?
can you change the resolution?
are you using VGA on the datalux?, is the s-video hooked up to anything?
....why are you directing your question to me?
ok peoples heres the dilema. i've been on this forum a long time now and i thought i had all the problem that i could possibly have but...i had my carputer running on my desk all set up and ready to go. i installed it in the car the other day and now--the display is way larger than the screen. i have it set up for 800 x 600. its a datalux 12". its never done this before. i can't get to the outside bars. no start button, upper right close button etc. i'm using media car as a front end. i tried to get an adjustment on my video card but there isn't anything that applies. really weird. my vid card is an ati with tv out. i do know that the card sets the res by what the tv out screen is.
any help would be appreciated.![]()

holy **** man thats too funny. its only an expression lmao
i didnt even know you were on here. lmao again!!
the prob is that media car is fine in the window but windows itself is way too big for the screen
As he asked, are you using the VGA or the S-Video? Can you 'pan' around the screen by moving the mouse?
vga only right now. yes the mouse works. funny thing is it worked on my desk before i put it in the car
Hey, the only embarrassing question is the one that you don't ask and therefore never get an answer for. Like mentioned above, your best bet is to reinstall the drivers for your particular monitor. Windows XP should operate on a default driver allowing you access until then.

IS JACK BAUER GONNA HAVE TO SMACK A *****?
yeah you're right. i just put it that way because i've been on here so long and this is a basic problem. i'll try to reinstall the vid driver tonight thanks
after work i reloaded the drivers and everything looked fine. then i connected the lcd's through the s-video connector. after starting up the pc the background is now too tall so it extends above and below the monitor bezel. i still can't see the start button and the close & mnimize buttons on top. the video card i have is a rage 128 pro. hopefully someone has some idea i can try. i have a 12" datalux which only has a horizontal adjustment so i can't shrink it down from top to bottom
Nice install!
