7" Hd Lcd

Hello all,

Does anyone know if a 7"HD LCD exist yet? If so, how much and who makes it?

erm. you mean a 7" screen with HD resolution?

this is not going to happen as it is a waste. You can ren HD resolutions on the 7" screens but yes it is not native but more importantly there is no point as tb 800x480 is about as small as you want pixels to be in a car. Try a 7" screen at 1024 resoltion in a car environment and it is hard to use.

The only possible reason i can see for a HD 7" sceen is 'show factor'. the money would be better spent on a better screen with daylight visibility and decnet anti-glare.

What would you recommend Scouse Monkey? By the way, it actually for a project Im making. I just want a small LCD that has high quality and resolution. My XBOX 360 will be hooking up to it

urgh now you are asking. i dont have a clue what video interfaces the xbox 360 has. can you get a VGA adapter? if you can i would probably go that route but tbh i am not much use with xbox stuff as I have never had one.

IIRC The 360 has HDMI (Which can be converted to DVI, which can be converted to VGA) and Composite outputs

apparently the xbox 360 'dashboard' allows you to set various resolutions upto 1280x1024 or something from 640x480. I doubt it will have 800x480 res but you never know and i wouldnt have a clue as I dont have one.

IIRC the 360 does not have HDMI yet. It was one of the sticking points with PS3 coming out with HDMI with HDCP. But there are rumours that microsoft is bringing out a new rev of the 360 with with HDMI built in (just to punish its early adopters :-).

Converting HDMI to DVI-D is easy. Converting DVI-D to VGA is not.
But given the 360 has a VGA cable, all this is irrelevant.

You are taking about HD at 720P? Well, I don't see any company that is willing to make a 7" HD screen. We can't even get half decent screens in high quantities, only mediocore to fair. I'm sure it can be done...new cell phone lcd resolutions are 200dpi. But unless there is a demand, there will be no supply.
