    Advice on In-Dash LCD

    Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a relatively cheap 1 din in-dash vga LCD .. Touchscreen or not, doesnt matter.. also I see a lot of the times it says not-motorized does that simply mean id have to pull it out??

Any recommendations on screens and any input is appreciated.

That is exactly what it means.

Have you checked out the store and www.digitalww.com, or perhaps froogle?

    Yep,

I was on digitalww.com looking at screens, just thought maybe you guys have any positive or negative feedback on any of the screens before I buy one. So that I know what to steer clear of.

If you are looking for reviews or opinions, enter the model number you are interested in into the forums search function, and read what people are saying about it.

Notice that you have not posted the model number of the unit you are refering to, so none of us knows what you are talking about to give you an opinion. Certainly, an open ended question like this COULD draw thousands of useless, I like this model, I don't like that model comments about 1,000s of different units. It will not be helpfull.

Take the model number of what you are interested in, and search for people comments about it.

The least expensive Indash VGA touchscreen that I could find was the DWW-700H from www.digitalww.com. I got mine for only $275 shipped and I have been very impressed with it so far. You might be able to find them cheaper on eBay, but I wanted a warranty.

    Good Luck.

I have owned the Lilliput motorized single din unit sold here on MP3Car and I currently own the DWW-700H.

The Lilliput was so expensive yet so cheaply made. The screen wobbled all the time and the gears crapped out after a week of use. The built in AM/FM tuner sucked. I was disappointed!

I bought a DWW-700H to replace it. Simple hookup compared to the Lilliput. VERY sturdy. Problem with motorized units is the screen usualy comes out when you switch to VGA and goes in when you switch out or power off. My Lilliput annoyed me because it never went in when powered off and the time stuck when you pulled the key out. Wiring problem? No.

Overall I would highly recomment the DWW-700H unit.

Well there ya go. 2 for the same unit!

And I too suggest a warranty for indash screens. eBay is good for things you buy to purposly void the warranty!
