Im looking at using a 629GL-70NP/C/T ive found on ebay for my install. I have had a look at the "everything you need to know about lilliput" but as im using a laptop for my install i dont have an opus to power the screen. Im after simple suggestions how to power the screen from the car? Does anyone make a cigerate lighter adapter for the screens? (had a look at digitalww but couldnt see them there)

Is there a guide to hardwiring it in? Im guessing you cannot just connect it to a switched live and earth in the car? Must need some kind of fusing etc..
thats how i have it set up, well i did, i blew my screen so be carefull. Hook it up to your PSU.
Cant code cause I dont know how, but give me the paint bucket and my eraser and have at you!

check the manual or specs of the screen. You are looking for the maximum volts on the screen allowed. For example, my eight inch screen is ok with 9-14 volts. All this means is that it will work within that range. Now, the reason you want to find out what the recommended volts is - not to blow the capacitors or damage the screen.
If it turns out to be 12v, hypethetically speaking, than any "RED" wire behind the radio may due. Reason is that most instruments in a car operate at 12v.
Get a voltometer at Radio Shack for $20bucks. This will read the volts coming out of each wire.

if you use the cigarette adapter to hardwire it, that line has a built in inline fuse and voltage regulator.
