Anyway to use alpine, pioneer, panasonic touch screens?

I have a G6 and its double din, but I can only use ONE din. I want to be able to have a flip-out monitor with all the normal functions, like radio, CDs, etc. Now is it possible to get one of those and have it display the computer screen and use it as a touchscreen like with the lilliputs or no? Or if anyone makes something like this? TIA. Otherwise I'm SOL on a carputer

I am confused, are you looking for a motorized, single din VGA display with a Touch Screen, Radio, CD player? Or are you looking to use the screen and TS of a commercial unit like an Alpine, Pioneer, or Panasonic?

In any event, you really should search the forums for the answers, because both are here. And now, with the new super duper search function, it should be easier to find. Do a search for Search amd you will find the thread with the search engine.

Well, the truth is, if you install a carputer, TECHNICALLY, the CD and Radio can be done thru the carputer.

Unfortunately, NOTHING that is single din and motorized and has a Radio and a CD player exists.

It can be done, BUT you're going to void the warranty, and you need some specialized skills to pull it off. Someone did that with a Kenwood unit, but it's not anything I'd want to try.

It's possible, but nowhere near practical.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

And, from I can tell, it was done just once. Also, i9f you are asking the question, chances are you are not capable of accomplishing it yourself.

There is NO plug in device that will do it for you. You actually have to open the unit, and do some significant modding.

Any updates on this? The last post was in 2006 and I was just wondering if anyone has come out with a way for us to use our flip up touch screens for the computer aswell?

It isn't practical to modify the deck to control a computer in the way described, that hasn't changed.
