    any monitors that actually work?

i've been trying to pick out the right screen for my project, but every single one that i've looked at seems to have some kind of horrible design flaw, is unreliable, breaks immediately, doesn't support some feature, doesn't detect video signals or some other problem. are there any screens out there that just plain work? i'd prefer an in-dash, motorized unit, but will sacrafice features for reliability and good design.

all the in-dash screens (moptorized or not) are new products. As such, they're subject to first-generation design issues. As such they're not particularly reliable.

The screens aren't the issue, as they work just fine. It's the mechanism used to get the screen in/out of the dash.
