Hi all,
I did a search on this problem and am thinking that I may too have fried my LCD inverter. The problem is the screen just lits up as a bright/dim white screen and whenever I press the power button it shuts off and on as usual. But I can't see any other menu messages displaying on the top left corner as it should when I press any of the menu/submenu/up/down buttons. The green power led is working according to the power button ans so does the remote control, but I can't see any thing on the display. The display worked fine untill I started the car after filling up the gas (so maybe the over voltage???). I think by this info, you carputer gurus can narrow the problem.
Now coming to warranty, I bought this off ebay and I dunno if it is still under warranty, if it does, I am not having any invoice# or such details. Its Item#8814352076 on ebay. But the unit is still having the warranty void stickers and xenarc hologram on its back.
I am confused now, can anyone suggest me what I can do now??
thanks,
-Pavan

Sounds like one of the ribbon cables on the inside might have come loose. Either that or something if fried. You don't need to have a video signal to get OSD. As a side note Xenarc uses used LCD panels it there "new" displays. So your LCD might already have hundreds of hours of use on it. Xenarc does sell fully brand new units but they are going to cost more than the prices you see on their site.

I can't say that the screen is working, since when I press the power button, it lights up the green power led, but then the screen shows up as blank. I can't see any messages that we suppose to see when u press the other buttons on the display like PC/AV1/AV2 and the menu items etc. For example, when u switch on the display, it starts off with the blinking power led and then when I start the laptop and change the display to monitor, the power led stays ON and the screen gets a little brighter (Like I can see the rectangular area in which the desktop is been displayed) and nothing happens.
Hope I am clear in explaining the situation.

It what you see when the backlight turns on but the LCD panel it isn't getting a signal. All the light just shines through the panel.

I would say ribbon cable problem. Last time I took my xenarc apart I had a similar problem. AT first I would get a bunch of lines and then the image would just fade away. After a couple reboots all I got was a blank screen. Checked the ribbon cable reinserted it to make sure it was seated properly adn now it works fine.

From Xenarc. Seems to be a standard practice.

Here are some pictures--
as soon as I connect the power plug, it shows up like this
After sometime it goes into power off mode as I am not giving any signal
After I connect the video signal, it shows up again like this and never goes back into power save mode (means it is getting the display signal)
Any help plzz....

Open it up and make sure all the ribbon cables are attached.
