is it a good idea to set a tiny fan behind the tocuscreen (xenarc 7") up to cool the screen?
I have some space behind it and could wire the fan that it comes on soon as i crack the vehicle up and i think a cool system will runs longer/stable and in this case the screen would last longer.... am i right?
if you could run heat to it too that would be pretty sweet
now if I could just figure out how to put a computer on the SV.....
im here in Georgia. does the heat here effect my touch screen. at times it gets around 99
Personally i'm more worried about my screen when its too cold out. Heat hasn't ever been an issue for me, but when its real cold out in the morning my monitor does wierd things.
Cooling it cant really hurt. Your not gonna get it TOO cold.
It is normal for an LCD screen to slow its responce time, and seem sluggish, in extreme cold conditions.
Yeah my screen doesnt sync properly in the morning, causing a barely readable image
I've gone through Canadian winters with my Lilliput, and Canadian summers - meaning -35 Celsius outside in winter, and +40 on the occasional bad day in summer. It's still well alive, and there's even a heater (car stock one) mounted behind it. I think it's a fairly durable device
Like others have said, It couldn't hurt. My Xenarc has made it through New England winters and summers. Its still kicking. I don't know how much extra life you will get out of cooling it. Good Luck.
COMPLETE SYSTEM OVERHAUL!!!!!!
STAY TUNED IN THE UPCOMING WEEKS!
First look up if you can and see if theres a max temperature spec in the manual. If its like 200 F I probably wouldnt bother. If its lower and you think on a hot day with the car heated up and all it could reach it... throw in a fan it cant hurt. Most likely....(but dont quote me) it wont be necessary xenarcs are great screens... you may want to put a fan just to preserve the investment
