    Need help getting video.

Ok, me and my friend installed a new : Jensen Phase Linear uv71. I read through the manual of it, and it says to view DVD's and play AUX videos IN you need to have the Emergency Braking cable attached to this cord from the player. My friend has a 1999' Pontiac Grand AM, we got the player installed and it works great for music, but we want to watch DVD's.

So I guess I have more then one question -

1 - Where is the emergency brake cable?
2 - If there is a way (some guy at an audio store informed me there is) but how would I bypass the wiring so I wouldn't need to connect the wire to my e-brake?
3 - Anyone have any diagrams etc?

Thanks, I feel this is probably a common problem, so I'm intent on the fact that somone must be able to help.

You are in the wrong place, and the wrong forum. This forum is for people who install COMPUTERS in their cars. NOT FOR ALL IN ONE UNITS LIKE THE JENSEN YOU HAVE. There is little chance anyone here will have the answer for you, unless by chance someone has needed the cable in your exact car.

You should check out a forum specific to your car model, to determine where the wires and cables are for your car. Also, check out a Jensen specific forum for information about bypassing this safety feature on your unit.

I can, however, tell you that in general, you need to just ground the wire that goes to the Brake Lever switch. HOWEVER, you state you need the Brake Cable, which makes no sense to me, so perhaps the Jensen does things differently. YOU need to ask this question some where else.
