    Unhappy Xenarc 700tsv bsod? help.

    greetings.

i've never had a problem w/ my touch screen before. i took apart my xenarc and mounted it into my dash voiding all warranty i had (i think). today when starting up my carputer, the xenarc led green light comes on, but doesn't show anything in the lcd pannel.

after troubleshooting it and spending an hour w/ my dash in pieces, nothing has changed. whenever the xenarc gets power, the led goes on and won't turn off. it doesn't blink, it's just always on and shows a black screen. the letters telling me what hz and resolution don't even come on.

any help? i double and tripple checked all the wiring in the back. when the issue first happend the ribbon belt had fallen off, but i put it back in and this still happens. this happens even if nothing is plugged in but the power...

help please. or tell me the right words to search cause i cna't find this and xenarc support isn't open on sundays...

just called xenarc - said that it was probably my control board and i could send it in w/ a check for $115 and get it fixed. i might end up driving over there being that it's kinda attached to my double din dash insert.

said that they used to have a problem similar to this in which the F1 fuse would blow - looks like i get to go find a multimeter for a little fun

anyone have any other ideas of what it could be? or is there a cheaper way to fix this?

Hopefully I can save you some time here - Make sure that you plugged in your touch screen controller correctly. Here is a pic showing it plugged in correctly http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/atta...1&d=1162867189

4 wire connector should be aligned to the right of the touch controller connector.

On some of these I noticed that the main chip (big one in the middle of the board) is not soldered properly and some of the legs are not touching the PCB. You might not have this but take a look. You can slightly bend the PCB away from the chip and look at all the legs on all 4 sides. You will need a good eye.

I have a similar problem, however not so grave... anyways does or can anyone give any advice on how to reset the touchscreen to factory default? The reason I ask is my Xenarc 1040TS, powers up and displays correctly, however the touchscreen portion of it is acting completely haywire! I am running Streetdeck software as the front end, however have lost all control of the touchscreen! I can't get into the touchscreen calibration software since I've told Streetdeck to startup and shutdown WinXP automatically... Help..How do I reset the touchscreen????
