First of all: DONT WRITE IN ALL CAPS!
Secondly, welcome.
And the problem is more than likely due to XP's USB "power saving" feature. It turns off USB devices after inactivity to save power. Utter crap. So go to device manager, and click properties for all your USB hubs/roots. Then deselect the box that says "Allow windows to turn off this device to save power".
Try that first. If you aren't running an NT operating system, then nevermind, and we will go on to something else.
