I've got word that there is a 6.5 inch Sharp LCD panel with 480x800.
It would suite me perfect. 500nit. But it is discontinued!
Has anyone got any info or experience of Sharp LQ065Y5DG02?
I'm trying to find a 480x800 LCD Panel smaller than 100x160 or if that is not possible smaller than 104x165. Note, it is just the LCD panel I am interested in.
I've made a table. Mail me if you got additional info.

Sofar it seems that it is only AU Optronics A070VW01 (or maybe C070VW02) that fits the bill. But on that panel the flexible board comes out in such a way I have to bend it quite hard. I'm a bit reluctant to do that.
Can you help me out?
Regards, B-O

Not specifically no. Sorry. But htere's a few good ones on the link provided. And if that is not enough pick some of the panel product id's on there and google them. I remember I've seen some smaller panels around. None with greater resolution than 234x400 though. Good luck
<edit> there is a 5.8' screen from Toshiba called LTM06C381. Smallest one I've found with 480x800. Dimensions 135.8x88. But the price I saw was 900USD!!!! Can't be right.
I've got hold of a few Sharp LQ065Y5DG02! Not easy. The first one will cost me 400USD but the third 250.
Anyone interested? Mail me right now and get the price down!
Note! I do not leave any guarantee that it will acctually work ;-)
Hi All,
I've been lurking for a bit while I decide what I components I want for my in-dash PC. My goal is to fit everything into a double-din chassis, and I'd like to have physical buttons and perhaps a rotary encoder for menu selections, etc.
With my self imposed space constraints and requirement for buttons, I've been looking very hard for a good LCD that is smaller than the widely available 7" touch panels.
I have found the Mitsubishi AA043MA01 display:
4.3" diagonal
103x63 mm case size
800x480 resolution
130 degree viewing angle
500:1 contrast
200nit brightness
$180 price point
The display is listed on the All American site as an Optrex display, but I suspect that is a typo. The site's part-search tool doesn't show the display, so I guess I'll have to call them on Monday.
It appears that the backlighting is done by LED's instead of CCFL. The brightness is pretty low at 200 nits, but with the lack of available transflective displays, I had planned on doing my own backlight upgrade anyway. Since I have a lot more experience with LED lighting, this panel might be a great candidate for an upgrade.
I've done a fair amount of searching, but can't find any other vendors for this panel. It also isn't mentioned anywhere on the Mitsubishi site. If anyone knows where I can get one of these panels, I'd really appreciate any help.
Thanks,
pb
EDIT: I deleted my extra posts. For some reason, vB refused to display this post, so I posted again... And that one failed to show, even using a totally different browser. So I posted the 3rd, and it showed. Now I come back and all 3 were here. POS vB.
Thanks PB, but 4.3 is to small and 200 nits is way too dark.
There is also a 5.8 Toshiba but that is still too small.
This is where it has to go:
So you see, 6.5" is *perfect*
Hi bes51659,
I'm glad you found a screen that works for you, but I was thinking that you could add the screen to your table so others know it's available.
The brightness is low, granted, but if I buy it I'll likely be upgrading the backlighting. I'll probably be getting a 7" screen for the short term, but in the future, I'm going to want buttons and knobs for control purposes, which means a smaller screen.
It seems crazy that 7" touchscreens with VGA/Composite input are only $200, but a bare 5" panel can run up to a grand.
