I broke one of the white tiny clip (one that hold the ribbon to the panel) on the Super/Avatar screen by using tooo much force while pushing it out. The clip is okay, it just the "hook" that keep it in place that broke. I tried to use piece of soft, thin, flexible plastic (got it from hanging file folder). Cut to shape, sand one side to thinner a bit more and jamp the darn thing down. Work like a charm.
Just curious, you said you ordered a 2-way mirror? What did you order? Is there like a 2-way film that you can buy?
I got it off ebay, perfect size for the 8" lilliput (I may need to trim an 1/8" in one place), but I haven't had enough time to experiment with it, you might want to hold off (or not ). It was around $20 FYI
looking forward to seeing if this works.
Continued Worklog... Upgrades in progress:

*Custom fiberglass dash bezel
Im interested in seeing the before and after pics of this mod. Whether it works or not, itll be interesting to see the results =)
Also, where do you get that 3M film? I went on their site and requested samples, but I havent gotten a response. =(
If your white clip is still broken i can say that i've fixed such clips on my ipod with hot glue, just put the ribin in and hot glue it in place
MobileThree: in car - Zotac Atom/ION - linuxICE 2.0.2
The problem with fixing it with a wedge or similar is that it's so tight, simply trying to adjust anything inside the lcd causes it to come out which makes trying to play with films etc, maddening because I can't get an image on the screen.
I'm thinking of ordering some high output ccfls too. I have to hit a local neon shop to see if I can persuade them to shape it. I could give it a try, but they bend glass all day.
I also think adding some reflective foil to the outer upper area of the ccfl would help a lot. Right now, that light probably gets mostly absorbed by the case.
any progress on this?
