40x4 char LCD model - any good?

I have a catalog for a local company called Excess Electronic Components, and in it was a 40x4 char LCD with backlight.

My question is, will it be easily interfaced to the parallel port? I'm not sure if its HD44780 (spelling?) compatible.

    Here's the data sheet: http://www.gaw.ru/doc/Powertip/PC/PC4004LRU-ASO-B.PDF

If anyone is interested, I can get these for $18 AUD each + postage.

ther appear to have the standard pinouts so it should be easy to hook them up to the parelle port

would it be easier if I just gave everyone who was interested the phone/fax number of the company thats selling them? That way it would save me from having to ship them all out individually and save you half the postage costs sending them directly to you instead of via my residence.

Also, is everyone sure this LCD is HD44780 and interfacable with the parallel port?

    Thanx.

I think in my case, it would be only possible for me to get them from you.....unless the company in question has a website?

    No website available sorry

For international orders, I may be able to order the displays for you and get them shipped directly to you, if EEC is willing to do so.
Otherwise I may be able to get them all shipped to me and I'll send them out individually.

Ppl can pay me via paypal.

I'll just get a list of addresses and quantities sorted out, not sure how many units EEC have, I will ring up and find out.

    Any more questions?
