    Help Understanding Lilliput USB

    Hello,

I was recommended to this site from cinemaronline. I would like some help understanding the usb connection. I am currently connecting to a PC through the VGA adapter and the 12v power cable. I can not get the system to recognize the monitor as far as the touch screen portion. I get the normal PC windows screen, but have to do everything with the mouse. I noticed on this forum that the usb on the monitor is not actually a usb. How do I get the system to recognize the touch screen? I also have downloaded the newest drivers. It is the 8.4' screen.

    Thanks JR

you need to connect the USB to your computer. A monitor is simply an output device. Your touchscreen is an input device and it communicates with the computer via the USB.

    Hello,
Thank you for the reply. I noticed in the main forum about Lilliput that the USB plug is not truly a USB?? Is this correct?

    Thanks JR

    Yes, it's a USB connector.
I'd like to knwo where you got this information, as it's wholly inaccurate.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

You are mistaking the different "USB" connections on the lilliput. The one that is 9" off the end of the VGA cord is a USB connection. Just plug it into your USB port on your computer. That's what it's meant for. The "USB" on the back of the monitor is not a true USB connection. This thread says it's for Aux Inputs.
