    auto on for EBY701 lilliput...

people says it's programmable and the code that is posted to get to the setup menu 588998 doesn't work on this model seemingly. Is there a way people have found out without soldering to get the auto on to work? I've been on the forums for about 6 hrs now, and my eyes hurt to search more.

    thanks in advance

I have the 701, and it worked perfectly for me first go. I didn't press slowly or anything. Just picked up the remote, punched in the code and off I went.

    Here's my post http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...8&postcount=71

It took alot of people a few go's to get it.

that's so odd. I literally spent 3 hours trying to get the thing to work. Knowing that you have the same one and got it to work is encouraging. Do you have to do it when the blue lights are off as someone had previously posted? I tried fast, slow, counting 2 secs between and 3 secs between, and none of them worked. Did you have to press menu to get the setup screen after you put the numbers in?

(sorry for bombardment of questions, just frustrating after so many hours to get this work.. even tried up up down down left right left right.. haha)

What I did, was connected the power and turned it on. That brought it to standby mode, where only the blue power button is illuminated IIRC. I pressed the power button and the screen turned on. Put in the code with the remote which brought up the On Screen Display of --------- . I entered the second code as pe rmy post above, pressed '5' (any button works) and then turned it off. I then disconnected and reconnected the power and now it turns on automatically.

Do you have the vga source connected, or are you just plugging the power in and trying it that way. I had the vga cable connected. When I entered the program code it had a VGA source from my computer

vga source is connected. I hope i'm not wearing out hte 5,8,9 buttons on the remote cause i'm doing this so much.

I've tried every single combination of ways to do it.
    1. plug in put in code
    2. plug in press power put in code with blue buttons on
    3. plug in press power wait for blue buttons to go off and put in code
    4. plug in press power wait for blue buttons to go off and put in code and press menu
    5. 2 sec intervals between number
    6. 3 sec intervals between numbers
    7. entered 588998 really fast

I did this after unplugging each time at least 300 times.

Nothing is working. LCD does look really nice though.

    OK OK I GOT IT.

I dont know what compelled me to do this but I removed the battery from the remote incase the remote has some kind of memory that stores the numbers. I can get it every time now as long as I remove the battery from the remote and unplug the monitor. Otherwise it wont work.

    So..
    1. remove power
    2. remove battery from remote
    3. put battery back in and power on the unit
    4. wait 3 secs for unit to power on (blue lights still on) and steadily put in the numbers not slowly but pretty quick.
    5. then this

I hope this little thing with the battery can help those that never got the status screen or is thinking of soldering. Mine auto-on's every time now and i can get the status screen every time now with this procedure =) Thanks Nislo for your posts. I was giving up until I saw you had the same unit and got it to work. + reputation points if the forum has it.

I just got my lilliput 7 with a serial of EBY701832810157 and when I put in the code 599889, it brings up a window with the languages on it only. It doesn't give me the OSD with the dashes on it so I can put in the 2nd code. Any ideas?

AHAH!!!! Ok, I figured it out. After you put in the 588998, you have to push the menu button on the monitor itself! After that it brings up a new menu screen with lots of options (I dont have my camera, but I'll try to snap a pic of the menu tomorrow). There is an option for power mode and I switched it from 0 to 1, and I also turned off the 2 sound options. After I hit the menu button again, I turned off my PC and turned it back on, and the lilliput now auto powers on!!

Thanks for everyone's help on this.

Followd your steps exactly and got the same menu. Pressed menu on the screen and got the second green screen with the following options:

    PC ----- ON
    VIDEO 1 ----- ON
    VIDEO 2 ----- ON
    SVIDEO ----- OFF
    TV ----- OFF
    POWER MODE ----- 2
    BRCK CAR ----- OFF
    VGA VOL ----- ON
    VIDEO VOL ----- ON
    DEF SOURCE SWITCH ----- OFF
    DEF SOURCE ----- PC

I'm not sure what BRCK CAR means.
