    Earthlcd, your experiences?

Greetings, Im seriously considering purchasing this monitor from earthlcd. Question is, those of you that have ordered from Earth, were they quick? Did you encounter any hassles? Are their products good quality? I tried calling their sales guy a few times, and his voice mail keeps picking up. I finally decided to leave him a voice mail and take my chances with him calling me back. But I was going to ask him what type of warranty they had on their products if any, if they had that particular monitor in stock, how fast they ship, etc.... I dont want to pay for this thing and wait 3 months for it to get to my door.... And I dont really like the fact that there isnt a living being I can get ahold of at this company! Seems to be all automated. So if anyone who has bought from them could tell me about their experience, I would much appreciate it!

I encountered some of the same frustrations. Voicemail is pretty much a waste of time. If you email, send to al@earthlcd.com and make sure you put "order" in the subject line, whether you are ordering or not . Just keep trying to call during West Coast business hours. Eventually, you'll get someone. After you place your order, call them every couple days and "check the status", because they "misplaced" my order a couple times. When I did receive my products (custom LCD cable and backlight inverter) they worked well and were high quality. I have no complaints about the product. Normally, I would try the competition next time, but seeing as there isn't really any....I'd go ahead and use them again, keeping the caveats above in mind.

Has anyone purchased their touchscreen kits for like a 6.8 or larger monitor? Just wondering if they are any good. Thanks!

I bought some stuff from them last year. I emailed the guy (Al - he seems to be the specialist) and then called him at a time he said would be good. They make good stuff, and it didn't take too long to receive it. I believe it is overpriced, but at least it is good quality and they do offer a warranty if I recall. The only catch being an outrageous restocking fee. I remember thinking that after shipping and the fee, that it would be better for me to just keep the thing if it broke. They are the best company I came across and since they is no competition, there is no reason for them to worry about customer service.

I have purchased two 12.1" screens with enclosures from them. They arrived on time and have worked well. Al is the man there and he knows his stuff, but they are really focused on larger deals (it seems) so that one-offs are probably not that important. In any case, when I needed different sized standoffs for one of the screens after I added an ELO touchscreen, he put them in the mail for me right away and for free.

Keep in mind that at least on the 12.1" screens they have two different enclosures that are different depths to allow for a touchscreen or not.

    I recommend them...
