    PC Audio input x 1

What are the specifics of this "PC audio input"? I'm really hoping that its USB input, and not RCAs or 1/8" plug.

I think that ideally, to eliminate all possible static, noise, and ground loops between the carputer and the screen, (especially since we could be talking about quite a bit of distance here) that since there already is a USB connection from this MDT-X7000 to the carputer for the touchscreen, that if this device presented itself to the carputer as a USB audio device, that would be outstanding.

So how does the PC Audio input work???

If its not USB like I'm hoping, then how can we ask them to add that as a feature request? Realistically, this might could be done completely with just firmware, then existing owners could utilize the new functionality.

I don't think the usb input connector on the Xenarc 7000 screen will carry the audio from the PC. I used a Xenarc SC10 pc with my Xenarc 7000 screen, and had to use a jackplug lead to connect the sound to the car's speaker system.

Oh well. I wonder how we could get hold of Xenarc to request this functionality be added?

USB wake up from the MDT-X7000?

My laptop's BIOS supports USB Wake up. The instructions in the BIOS say that this feature is only supported with Win XP Media Center Edition.

So if I run XP MCE, will the Xenarc's touch screen USB interface to the laptop wake up the computer from suspend or standby or hibernate when ACC power is applied to the Xenarc and the xenarc powers up when cranking the engine?

The X7000 has a "PC Wire" which I believe is meant to be a trigger for the pc, but, as usual, there is no documentation on how it is to be connected.
I emailed Xenarc over a month ago regarding a problem I had with my xenarc sc10 car pc regarding a startup problem, but have not heard a thing from them in response. I don't like your chances of getting any sort of reply via email.
Pity a company which has a philosophy for innovative service, falls flat when put to the test.

Been trying to get more info about this screen. I hear there are a ton of problems but there was suppose to be new firmware coming out. Did this some issues? Or is this just a piece of junk?

Personal experience...It is junk. However, others have raved about it. There is a firmware upgrade on new screens, but I am not sure what that is actually fixing. The issue with mine is a power-up problem which will not allow the screen to actually open, but once the screen does finally open, it performs well. Have been waiting 5 months for either a screen replacement of the firmware upgrade, so far without any luck. I always get the response, from my dealer, "still awaiting the firmware upgrade cable, or still awaiting the new already upgraded stock".

I personnally feel that 5 months is unacceptable, but what can you do?

Wow i would've thought everyone would've gotten a replacement by now. Couldn't you just go to the people you bought it from? I wonder if urs is fluke or is this a general problem. I was originally thinking of going with the DWW6500 but i read thats a piece of junk too so i wonder if my only option is to just put an open case screen in and get a custom dashboard piece made.
