I heard it wasn't very good but there was an update to improve some issues people were having. I think someone is selling one in the classifieds for a good price.

I've got this thing. I've had to send it in for replacement twice now. first time the gears stripped out, this last time the ribbon cable to the monitor went so i had no picture. I'd say it's a great device in theory, but it's really not reliable. it's also VERY cold sensitive... not too good in these new england winters. the audio quality kind of sucks too.

I'm convinced that Xenarc does not make quality products. I have the 700IDT and I have sent it in twice. I have given up. The screen flickers wildly and has splotches all over. Next time I will completely avoid this company.

Hey everyone. This is Jason from Xenarc. We are working to resolve any and all issues in relation to the MDT-X7000. As with all new products, we have encountered our fair share of problems with this particular model. Although there are many units in the field that have worked flawlessly, we understand there are some units that have been giving members problems. If you have any problems with any of our products, please do not hesitate to contact Jimmy Hu at [email protected]. He will definitely work with you to get your problems resolved. Thanks everyone.

I've had the X7000 for about 6 months and I had to send it back once, got it back 6 days later with no issues. About a month later the screen stopped retracting so I just opened it and reseated the ribbon cable myself.

I really do like the H/U, I only have a couple small issues.
-I have a diesel car and with the high variations in alternator output I have a issue with the screen flickering when shifting. Not realy something big, just annoying
-My car uses a CAN-Bus system for H/U illumination so I am unable to use the dimmer feature, I would make my own dimmer for manual control, I just don't know what Voltage input the X7000 is looking for. If there is anyway you could just post this I would be very grateful
-And last is the lack of a auto switching input, I know there are two wire that are not used on the plugs, Is there a way we can make a custom firmware that connects one of these to a reversing line to auto switch. Even if I have to do teh programming this is a huge feature that I miss

These are not deciding issues, only small problems that I would love to fix myself. I jsut want to say thanks for an otherwise great Headunit!

it would be great if xenarc add second small LCD to this model..
so we can use AM/FM/CD.. without opening the entire LCD..
so.. no need to open the screen each time we want to switch to another FM station..
