it's not a touch screen, but a digitizer.

wow. for 799, it may be a deal. But, a lot of complaints about low battery time and heat.
While this does not directly pertain to the issues usually discussed here, I thought it would be of interest to the hoardes of people looking for a transflective/sunlight readable screen.
Woot.com has a tablet PC with 5" transflective (outdoor readable) touchscreen screen for sale for $799. While the screen is smaller than the mp3car.com transflective screen, the cost is more than comparable when considering that one is also buying a full-fledged PC with built-in wireless connectivity. Just add GPS software, mount this sucker in your dash, and you have an instant car computer with no installation fuss.

To clarify, Digitizer = Wacom tablet device. You need a special pen with some RF hardware to be detected, but it doesn't have to actually touch, and depending on the pen (I don't know what they supply or if my other wacom pens would work) you can have the multiple buttons and other functions.
woot.com also has "the community" link with a forum that usually covers the hardware/software aspects.
Good info about the digitizer. Learned something, as usual. :-)
I guess the battery life issues wouldn't be that big a deal if it was running from the charger (off an inverter) while in the car...biggest problem would be triggering hibernate from the ignition.
