Building a custom double-DIN box for screen - dimensions of Lilliput?

I'm thinking about building my own box to house my screen and other components that will mount in the double-DIN opening of my 2001 Accord. I'd like to make or modify my LCD housing so that it attaches to the front of the box. When it goes in the dash it'd be just like installing a standard double DIN radio.

The opening size would be 4.5" high by 7 3/8" wide. It looks like my Lilliput 629 will easily fit into the width of that. What about the height? The Lilliput housing is almost 5 inches high. But, the buttons take up about 3/4". It appears that if I took the screen apart and just mounted the screen and appropriate guts that it would fit.

I just got my screen and other parts. I'm not quite ready to open it up to play around with it.

What do you think?

Looks like the thread isnt actually in the emporium (or my perception of it) its under techincal section, lcd displays.
