Assuming the model number Blitz's installer gave him is correct (which I AM assuming it is as he would have had to dissasemble the LCD module from the case) The specs for the module used in this display would be this

    http://www.tmdisplay.com/tm_dsp/pan...e/e-edtcb18.pdf

Which, ironically, was the original module I was looking for.

Brightness rating is listed at 400 nits.

HOWEVER, it would be helpful if Skip would request the specs for the LCD module used in these displays from Mr. Huang over there and end this debate.

Also Skip, once you get this whole thing arranged get a date outta him of when he expects the new shipments to arrive - that way you can put a deadline on this group buy. I'm pretty sure everybody is in a hurry to these displays.

I've actually spoken to the regional salesperson for Toshiba Matsu****sa (or whatever it is) and he is going to be sending me a catalog with prices of their LCD displays, particularly the ones for "car a/v use." It would be very nice if that 7" widescreen monitor was 400 nits. Amazingly enough, even though they are sold out, does anyone on the forum actually have one and can check the user's manual perhaps or a whitepaper that tells the alleged brightness?

Ok gang here's the deal. The deadline for this group buy is July 24th. Xenarc would like us to have the order ready by the 1st of August.

Those who are still interested should e-mail me at skippman@swbell.net with the nessicary information. I'll take a head count and send you the cost information via e-mail. I'm still working on setting up the account with Xenarc so that you can send your money straight to them.

I've also asked Jason to get the specs of the LCD for those *AHEM*SuperMatty*AHEM* that are holding out. The more who buy the better a price we can get.

I agree that we should try and get the brightness upgraded. If we're getting such a nice display it would be a shame if it wasn't readable in direct sunlight.

    Thumbs up

Hi, I've been following this forum for a long time now. After finding out about the group buy for the xenarc displays, I decided to come out from the dark .
I am definitely in, if the price is right.
I know that there are two touch screen models: one with AV connectors that sells at $525 with shipping included at Spysupply007 ; and the other one without AV for $499 with shipping included. Which one would we be getting?

I might be interested, but can't go over $500, so just keep us posted on the price.

Im up for one of these screens, BUT... Im in the UK, so ordering directly from them is gonna be expensive, as I will get hit for import tax etc...

Would anyone be willing to help me out by having it shipped to them and then forward it on marked up to the effect:

    Samples, value: $1
    It's worked in the past...

thenominous I might be able to work with you on that. Don't like to be the middle man myself, but I'll see what's going on. It looks like I have enough people now to start talking a good discount. I'll e-mail you all with the current cost.

would it be possible to post the price structure and current number of people on the board? or is there some reason why that isnt a good idea... I am not ready to commit for sure, but I would definatly like to know the price. also, do these have the 3 a/v inputs?
