I know the quality will not be the same, but I can't justify spending $300 more just so I can see a little better (I don't really need the benefits of VGA versus composite video). Don't get me wrong, this is the best deal on a 7" VGA LCD that I've seen, but I wouldn't be able to replace it if it was stolen.

When I originally signed up for this I thought it would be more in the range of $350 in which case it would be an incredible deal. I guess I overestimated the benefit of a group buy.

To my understanding based on what Jason has told me this is a typo. It should read OR instead of with as it's an either or thing. We are getting the ones with VGA in.

Just to be certain. Is this the screen we're getting here. Right now, its going for 495.00 including shipping. So what is all the hype about?

Anything less than that, and I don’t think my Manager will go for it and we are talking 500.00 plus shipping costs.
Gosh, I'm no accountant but the numbers doesn't seem much of a deal. Come on guys we need to get over 20 units or else we need to pay an additional $5 buck plus shipping. If we do get over 20 units, thats a WHOPPING 3.14 percent saving. You do the math.

    Please somebody pinch me.

I'm going to use Winamp double size and I have custom buttons on the right so I can push them when stuff like GPS is up. I can control winamp through them also so I can change tracks when looking at maps.

You also found the overlay and controller on EBAY or were those prices retail?

They both were on Ebay. I was going to sell the overlay and I listed it in the classified section of this forum but once I got the price on this Xenarc display I changed my mind. Here's another source of touchscreen kits:

I don't know how good they are though.

That's because it's a Widescreen. It has more pixels on the horizontal than the verticle.

    REMOVAL OF ANGRY TIRADE HERE

$350 per unit? The only way we could EVEN approach a deal like that would be to order over 100 units or better. I'll talk to Jason. I'll see what I can do. I've got a couple of things in the works. But you have to understand that these units are expensive. If you ordered a LCD like this off of Earth LCD you would be in the $750 range.

So is the model here. VGA or AV. Sounds like Skipman is aimming toward the VGA version.

I'll see what I can do. But you guys are not exactly being supportive.
Hey Skip, I want this screen as much as you do. I feel awful that you are going through all this pain and torture for a measily 3.14% saving. I appriciate the effort you are doing not only for yourself, but the entire forum. My sincere Thanks. However, when you're dealing with 4-5 hundred dollars, 15 buck is nothing to rave about. I know 20 units wouldn't drop the price down to 15-20% like most ppl would hope. To be honest, my expectation was $450.
