    Lilliput buttons

    Hi,

I have read a lot about the Lilliput, but have a couple of questions for anyone who has used them. I would like to mount the screen in the dashboard and get rid of the buttons. Can the IR control do all of the functions that the buttons do, or do I need to keep them? If I mount the screen in the dash with only the display showing, will the Lilliput still pick up the IR remote, or is the pickup somewhere else on the device?

One more thing, what is the main difference between:

    619GL-70NP and EBY-701

I have read that the EBY-701 has a resolution of 800 x 480, but can the screen accept a 1024 x 768 input like the 619GL-70NP can, as I am going to have a larger screen in the back of my van and want to use 1024 x 768.

I'm also a newbie but I have run across alot of threads that can answer most of your questions. Try searching the LCD/Display forum. You can also get alot of this information from a site that also sells the screens.... http://www.digitalww.com/

    good luck

The IR receiver for the remote is on the button board, as is the power switch. You will not be able to use the remote or power the unit on without modifications. Search the forums. This has been covered. Many times.

You can use the lilliput just fine without the button board only if you solder wires to the mainboard for the IR receiver and you have auto power on. I havent had a button board on mine in years.

Excelent, exactly what I wanted to hear.

jcdillin, what Lilliput have you got and what res do you run it at?

Also, when mounting the screen, do you have the IR reciever somewhere out of site, so you can still operate the screen, but not have a small reciever on show?

    Cheers mate.
