    Looking for factory displays

I have an '88 Bronco that I want to put a carputer in. The kicker is that I want the monitor install to be not so noticeable. I am pretty good at fabricating, or at least I thought I was until I saw some of the stuff on this site. So I am looking for something I can retro fit into/under the dash or console.

My original thought was to mount a BMW Z4 Display above the radio on the flat part of the dash, and then I found out it is really proprietary and that I could not get it to function properly. I also thought of a single DIN unit that pops out, but I have clearance issues. I also thought of something on the floor - not a good place - it would get damaged. And I thought of some sort of flip up mounted in front of the console.

    Things I think will work:
If I could find a single DIN that opened down instead of up.
Mount a overhead unit to the front of the console (vertically) but I do no think there is enough swing.
Mount one big screen, but that is beyond my ability ( to make it last anyway).

And where you all come in - try and find a factory module (like the flip up Z4 display BMW 540i Project Part 2) and find a place to mount it.

Here is a pic I lifted off of ebay of what my dash looks like.

Let me know what you think.

    Hmmm...

A couple days post and no takers huh? I really tought there would be more factory flip type displays out there. Do these even exist outside of the display in the BMW Z4?

    Anyone... Anyone?

Here's a real ghetto way of doing it. Mount a single din upside down. That way it will come out and flip down. There's settings in the screen where you can flip the screen image.

I was thinking of that, but did not know they could be installed like upside down. Looking through the site I have not seen anything like that - do you know where I could find a pic of an install like that? Do you think that would work with a half DIN as well?

    Thanks.

One more shot. I thought there would be more interest, or at least input.

Sorry, I couldn't find any examples, but I'm sure I read it on here that someone else was suggesting that. Search can be finnicky without the right wording.

If you search the forum, there is a guy installing 2 flip out screens. One the normal way and the other up-side-down.

Thanks for the input. I have tried a number of different search combinations and found where some people were talking about it, but no pics of any install. Again, any help would be appreciated.
