Connecting LCD with VGA to Svideo??

i have a LCD monitor and i have a VGA cable run to the back of my car already. The problem is i dont beleive the dvd player i am installing has a VGA out. It has RCA and Svideo. Why not use a DVD player throught your computer? That "gender changer" you list is software driven off of a supporting video card- it will only change a video card's VGA to the s-video/composite, not the reverse.

I dont have my carcomputer anymore....what i want to do is change the lead from the touchscreen from VGA to svideo to plug into my dvd player...this wont work then?...if not i can run rca or svideo..im not positive if the svideo connection is still connected to my monitor...if it isnt..can i get a way with a heavy duty shielded RCA cable..or is the quality alot better with the SVIDEO?

I'd use the S-video if the screen has it. There are also DVD players on eBay that have VGA output. You can use RCA's if you have to, just dont run them along with the power wires.

k the only problem is..back when i used it for my carcomputer i had to cut a few wires on the wiring harness for the LCD..the harness has VGA RCA and SVIDEO....im positive i cut the white and red cables just to make room for it to fit...but im not positive if i cut the svideo..i will have to go look now...is there a place i can buy a new harness incase i did...its one of those 7" touchscreen "Super" lcds from ebay
