HELP!!! Reversed polarity on Lilliput GL701

I've searched all the logical places and can't find the answer, wondering if anyone can help.

    OK, I have this problem.

I was doing some work on the test bench yesterday and reversed the polarity accidentally through my head unit (Lilliput GL701-TV/C/T 7 inch in-dash thing). I've replaced the external blade fuse and tried powering it up again and the fuse keeps blowing on me.

I also reversed the polarity through my Computer at the same time (I was testing both at the same time) and replaced the fuse on the M2-ATX controller and it now works fine.

I've read in other threads that some Lilliput screens have a secondary fuse. I opened the case up and had a look, and can't see anything that looks like a fuse.

Could there be a 'dummy diode' there somewhere for idiots like myself who chose to accidentally wire things backwards? Would would I be looking for?

Will post a pic up in a few days of the innards but I don't have a camera right now unfortunately

Do you have a multi-meter? I think that would be the best way to find your problem. I would first check the volatge/amperage that is beig drawn from the m2-atx and then the volatge/amperage that the monitor is recieving before it blows a fuse. Sorry, I have no other comments or suggestions I can give about this issue.

Cheers, I've been meaning to try and measure a few things with a multimeter and see if I trace where the issue lies, but been a little busy the last few days. Just hoping someone may have some experience of insight to share.

I'm just annoyed because I had one of the few 100% OK, working examples of this unit and due to some silly 2am carelessness it's pretty much screwed...

    Good News

I got the unit working again.

It's powering up and not blowing fuses all I did was strip it down and check a few things with a multimeter. However, when reassembling the unit I managed to break the switch that gets triggered to screen to stop moving out and swinging up. Does anyone know is replacement triggers are available?

The switch I broke is located in the extreme lower left corner of the pcb in this picture...

If anyone knows where to get a replacement let me know.

    Cheers

    Switch

I don't see the switch, but I think I have the same problem. Unfortunately, mine came from ebay this way. I posted a video on youtube, tell me if you think we have the same issue. Can you circle the switch you think is broken in the picture? I can't tell what you're talking about. Thanks.

no that's a different problem to mine (which still isn't fixed ), when mine comes out it just keeps coming. It looks like you have issues with the motors or gears for the rotation.

Typical error of someone that opens a GL701 for the first time... I did it myself too.. As i am selling Lillis here in Greece, i got some of these switches as spares. Where are you from ?

    Edit:
    Just Saw it.. Aussie ?
Well just a hint. You can possible find the same or very similar switch on the pcb of old cdrom drivers...
